processes as well as alternative processes and has produced extensive portfolios
  of the Potomac River,  Maryland landscapes, Oceans,
 figurative work, and the Atacama Desert of northern Chile.

John’s photographs have won numerous awards and have been exhibited throughout the US.
  He is currently working on a backlog of negatives from his last three trips to Chile
 and is developing new darkroom manipulations for his portrait and figurative work.

John  studied photography at the School of Visual Arts in NYC
 and is represented by the Kathleen Ewing Gallery in Washington, DC,
  the Packard-Reath Gallery in Lewis, DE,
   and is on the staff of the Washington School of Photography.

John is married to the author Catherine Reef and is the father of the
music theorist and humorist John Stephen Reef .
